"I need more motivation."
Does that sound familiar?
Imagine if you didn't need motivation... and it was 'just there' already. How would that make you feel?
Think about a time when you didn't 'need' motivation to get something done. It's likely that you thought about the steps you needed to take and then you just got stuck in and made the outcome you wanted happen.
So how is it that sometimes you've got it and sometimes you haven't?
There's a really distinct differentiation to make here.
'Motivation' is merely a moment of inspiration - it sounds like a good idea at the time and that's enough to make you excited.
On the other hand, 'commitment' is to do what it takes to make your outcome happen. With commitment, you have so much more than just 'motivation' - you have 100% focus on your goal and the outcome it will result in.
New Years' Resolutions are a great habit to get into but I suggest you are kind to yourself and only set goals (or resolutions) that you are wholly committed to.
Having 'some motivation' simply isn't enough so ask yourself, "How committed am I?" If you're scoring at least an 8/10 then go for it. If not, I suggest you leave it until your full commitment is there.
